Mt. Pisgah and the July Mask Mandate

Since March 6 when a public health emergency was declared in Indiana, Mt. Pisgah affirmed that we would abide by the governor's regulations insofar as they did not prohibit the preaching of the gospel. That affirmation still stands.

Beginning Monday, July 27, the state of Indiana will require certain people to wear a face covering under certain conditions.

There are particular exemptions to the governor's mandate that affect churches. Because all religious gatherings must already abide by 6-feet of social distancing, we are not obligated to abide by the mask mandate. However, we encourage the wearing of masks.

Because we will not enforce covering your face at every gathering of the church, we will continue to hold an 8:00am worship service on Sundays where masks are mandatory. Again, we do encourage wearing a mask in social settings where social distancing cannot be maintained.

Be in prayer for the church and our community. Be gracious to those with a different perspective than you. Our Lord said, "So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets" (Matthew 7:12). Your Christian testimony is constantly on display.

We hope to see you at worship, whether in person or online.
